Google Will Soon Tell You Where to Stream Shows and Movies

Do you ever decide you want to watch a show or a movie, but you’re not sure which streaming service it’s on so you spend the next 15 minutes checking all of the ones you use before you find it? I’ve done that and it is annoying as crap. The good news is that it appears Google wants to help make that process easier.

According to Deadline, Google is updating their Play Store and Google Play Movies & TV apps so that when you search for something to watch, it will tell you what apps you can use to watch it. For example, you could search for Bob’s Burgers and it will tell you it is available via Hulu. This sounds amazing! If you don’t have that capability yet, the report says that it is being rolled out over a few days, so be patient.

At launch, Google will have 28 partners including A&E, ABC, Amazon Prime Video, BET Now, CBS, Comedy Central, Cooking Channel, Crackle, Disney Now, DIY Network, Food Network, Fox Now, HBO Go, HBO Now, HGTV, History, Hulu, Lifetime, Max Go, MTV, NBC, Showtime, Showtime Anytime, Starz, The CW, Travel Channel, Tubi TV and VH1.

That is a pretty sizeable list, but I’m surprised Netflix is not on it. I would hope that over time Netflix joins the list. Are you thankful for this update, or did you have another way of dealing with this problem? I think this is great in a world where we have so many streaming options, and I can’t wait for the update to hit my phone.
