Great Olympics TV Spot for PROJECT HAIL MARY Dives into Ryan Gosling's Space Adventure
A great new TV spot was released this week amid Olympics coverage, and it includes commentary from star Ryan Gosling about the film’s message of friendship and hope in the face of the ultimate last ditch effort. The movie also features Sandra Hüller, and Milana Vayntrub.
This trailer features tons of footage with Rocky, Gosling’s character Ryland’s alien friend, who is one of the last of his species also looking for a way to survive. The character is portrayed by an on-set real puppet, not CGI.
The synopsis reads: “Astronaut Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) awakens with no memory of himself or his mission. He deduces he is the sole survivor of a crew sent to the Tau Ceti solar system in search of a solution to a catastrophic event on Earth.
“In his search for answers, Grace must rely on his vast array of scientific knowledge, sheer ingenuity, and human will – but he may not have to search alone.”
The film is directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, 21 Jump Street, The Lego Movie) from a screenplay written by Drew Goddard (Cloverfield, The Cabin in the Woods, The Martian, Bad Times at the El Royale) with Andy Weir, who authored the novel of the same name.
This looks like a fantastic adaptation, and one that will be great to see on the big screen. Check out the new video below, and watch Project Hail Mary when it’s released in theaters on March 20th.
