Great Scott! Christopher Lloyd Joins in THE MANDALORIAN Season 3!
Here’s a great piece of Star Wars news that is sure to make fans happy! Christopher Lloyd has joined the cast of Lucasfilm’s The Mandalorian Season 3!
Lloyd is best known for his role as Dr. Emmett Brown in the Back to the Future trilogy, but he’s been in a ton of films and TV shows over the years. He also previously appeared in the Star Trek franchise as a Klingon in Star Trek III: Search for Spock.
We don’t have any details on who he’s playing in The Mandalorian, but it will be a guest-starring role. Most of the guest-starring roles in the live-action Star Wars series have really fun, so I can’t wait to see what Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have in store for Lloyd! This is gonna be awesome.
We don’t have any other details on the third season of the series, but it looks like The Mando and Grogu will find themselves back with some of the Mandalorian characters introduced in Season 2 including Bo-Katan Kryze, Axe Woves, and Koska Reeves. I’m mostly looking forward to the Mando’s story arc with the Dark Saber.
When previously talking about the third season of series, stuntman Brendan Wayne shared, "I think we've introduced the world in which Mando exists now. Not that there aren't going to be new things, I'm sure... I think there will be a lot less introductions, and a lot more going back towards the first season of delving deeper into the character and things like that I think. Have I read one script? No. Have I heard some things? Sure. So I'm guessing. But I can tell you this. If anyone's going to be able to continue telling a story, it's Jon [Favreau]. And raising the stakes? It's Jon."
Executive producer, writer, and director Dave Filoni also previously offered a little tease for Season 3 saying, ,"There's a lot of new adventures coming up. I have to be careful, I can't really say anything specific, but I think the Force will be strong with this, let's just say that."
Bring it on, and may The Force be with Christopher Lloyd.
