Great Short Film LITTLE LUCHA AND THE BIG DEAL Is a Passion-Fueled Tribute to '80s Wrestling and the Creative Grind

I’ve got a great short film to share with you today, a larger than life pro-wrestling love letter titled Little Lucha and the Big Deal! The film comes from Scarlet Moreno and Josh Stifter, who are excited to release the film online, and GeekTyrant.com is proud to debut it!

Co-directed and starring both Moreno and Stifter, Little Lucha and The Big Deal is a love letter to 80s pro-wrestling, following superstar wrestler wannabes Little Lucha and his partner The Big Deal as they navigate both the ring and their lives in search of achieving their dreams.

Little Lucha and The Big Deal is one of the most heartfelt films I’ve been a part of creating," said Moreno. "It’s got an “art mirrors life” aspect for me as it’s a story of two people, nearly at the end of their ropes, doing everything in their power to make a dream come true.  And what artist or creative doesn’t know that feeling?"

A story of underdogs, Little Lucha and The Big Deal celebrates the less than glamorous side of going for that impossible dream and all the hope, blood, and tears that the dream demands as tribute. A film featuring glory, gore, and so much more, Little Lucha and The Big Deal celebrates all the things that don't go right along the way to making that big dream happen.

"This movie reflects so much of what I love and believe in as an artist,” said Stifter. "The struggles, the joy, the families you form. And wrestling!"

Complete with theatrics, extravagant costumes, and the over-the-top posturing that endeared pro-wrestling to the masses, Little Lucha and The Big Deal is both an homage to the pro-wrestling stars of the 80s, and a metaphor for the journey every artist can relate to: what lengths will you go to realize the dream?

The film held a successful festival run, including a World Premiere at LA Shorts International Film Festival and a screening at Film Quest.

"I’m so excited to put this story into the world and see what these larger than life characters elicit from an audience," said Moreno.

This is a really fun and entertaining film and I hope you enjoy it!
