Great Trailer For Hulu Mystery Series PHONY Starring Sam Nivola and Connie Britton
Hulu has released an intriguing trailer for their mystery series Phony, starring Sam Nivola (White Noise, The White Lotus) and Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights, Nashville), as well as Meera Syal, Grace Brennan, Mahaela Park, Maliq Johnson, and Colter Lee.
The series was created by Nick Paley (Hack Into Broad City, Marcel the Shell with Shoes On), who wrote and directed the series and served as showrunner alongside Anthony King.
The synopsis reads: “Phony is a coming-of-age mystery series about a teenager named Sonny (Sam Nivola) who wakes up in the hospital after a car accident to discover his mom Ellen (Connie Britton) — his only parent & best friend — appears to have been replaced by an impostor.”
This show looks like such a wild ride! I feel like the concept is fairly simple, but it sounds like such a nightmare to wake up and realize your only relative has been replaced, and no one knows what you’re talking about.
I feel anxious just talking about it, but I was so pulled in by this trailer, and I love Connie Britton, so I am looking forward to watching this and seeing how the story plays out.
