Great Trailer For THE PHOENICIAN SCHEME, Wes Anderson's Father and Daughter Story

If you’re a Wes Anderson fan, welcome! Universal Pictures and Focus Features just released the first trailer for The Phoenician Scheme, and it looks hilarious!

Benicio del Toro stars in the film as Zsa-zsa Korda, one of the richest men in Europe while Mia Threapleton plays his daughter, a Nun, and Michael Cera portrays her tutor. The movie looks like a ton of fun! If you enjoy the films that Anderson makes you’re going to love what this has to offer.

The cast of heavyweights also includes Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Riz Ahmed, Mathieu Amalric, Jeffrey Wright, Scarlett Johansson, Richard Ayoade, Rupert Friend, Hope Davis, and Benedict Cumberbatch.

When previously talking about the project, Anderson said: “This time around I just have three main characters in the film, that’s it. A few side characters, but the crux of the story focuses, actually, on two main characters […] I’ve long delayed this project, for years, but it recently spoke to me again.

“Ever since my daughter was born, seven years ago, my wife said that I would end up doing a father-daughter story. I wasn’t sure what other stories I could tell, but then this film came along. It’ll be a story about a father and his daughter.”

The Phoenician Scheme will open in limited release on May 30, 2025 and expand wide on June 6.
