Great Trailer Released For Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali's New Film GREEN BOOK
"You never win with violence. You only win when you maintain your dignity."
I've got a fantastic trailer for you to watch today for a new film called Green Book that is filled with emotion, power, and a story that is relevant to today's world. The movie stars Viggo Mortensen (Eastern Promises, The Lord of the Rings) and Mahershala Ali (Moonlight, Hidden Figures) and it tells the true story of a friendship that "transcended race, class and the 1962 Mason-Dixon line." Here's the synopsis:
When Tony Lip (Mortensen), a bouncer from an Italian-American neighborhood in the Bronx, is hired to drive Dr. Don Shirley (Ali), a world-class Black pianist, on a concert tour from Manhattan to the Deep South, they must rely on “The Green Book” to guide them to the few establishments that were then safe for African-Americans. Confronted with racism, danger—as well as unexpected humanity and humor—they are forced to set aside differences to survive and thrive on the journey of a lifetime.
The film was directed by Peter Farrelly (Dumb and Dumber, There's Something About Mary) and it looks like a great film! It's definitely a different kind of movie that he's directed before. I'm looking forward to checking it out.
The movie also stars Linda Cardellini, Don Stark, P.J. Byrne, Brian Stepanek, Sebastian Maniscalco, and Iqbal Theba. Green Book hit theaters on November 21st.
