Greek Mythology Meets Found Footage in Trailer for the Horror Film ITS NAME WAS MORMO

Here’s the trailer for a claustrophobic found footage horror film titled Its Name Was Mormo, and the story blends reality with fiction.

In the film, “A young family’s life unravels into chaos as a sinister presence targets each member in its own malicious way. Through the lens of police evidence, Mark, Diana, and Mia endure the torment of a demon deeply rooted in Greek mythology.”

The movie was written and directed by Mark Andrew Bowers, and he stars in the film along with his real family.

Its Name Was Mormo began by “documenting the experiences of a young family settling into their new home. Initially not intended for release, the story transformed after the discovery of a dilapidated village, which led to an impromptu production. As the unscripted narrative unfolded, the filmmakers encountered unusual occurrences off-camera.

“The production’s turbulence peaked as Greek symbolism was incorporated into their home, leaving Marcela with the unsettling feeling of being observed, leading her to keep the curtains drawn day and night.

“Mark experienced the unsettling sensation of a presence beside him, while their puppy Romeo frequently barked into dark corners and whined while pacing in circles.

“These occurrences were woven into the fabric of the production as the family’s unsettling experiences fueled their determination to complete the project as quickly as possible.”

Bowers said in a statement: “The journey was both challenging and terrifying, but the result is something we’re eager to share with audiences worldwide. We can’t wait to collaborate with Uncork’d and share our story with audiences across the world.”

Keith Leopard, President of Uncork’d Entertainment, added: “The film’s unique blend of horror and fantasy, combined with its deeply personal storytelling, makes it a standout addition to our slate.

“We’re excited to work with Mark Andrew Bowers and his team to share this haunting and unforgettable experience with viewers everywhere.”

Its Name Was Mormo makes its theatrical debut on November 9, 2024, followed by a digital release on November 26, 2024.
