Green Ronin Announces FANTASY AGE Second Edition Releasing Next Month
Earlier this week, Green Ronin Publishing announced that Fantasy AGE will be getting a second edition next month. The new edition will be launched with the Fantasy AGE Core Rulebook which fans have known about for a while now, although we didn’t know it would bring the game into a new edition. In the official announcement, Chris Pramas explains why the sudden change in language by calling it a second edition. In short, while the Core Rulebook started out being just a couple of minor changes, it ended up being much bigger than they originally conceived. That being said, he does explain that first edition materials like the Bestiary and Lairs are mostly compatible with the second edition.
I love Fantasy AGE and am excited for the Core Rulebook. Let’s go over some of the changes. First, there’s the introduction of the Envoy which is a social class for players to enjoy. There are also many aspects from the Fantasy AGE Companion that have been updated and I hope that includes new races and specializations. Also, optional rules for Peril and Daring have been included. There have also been some balance changes like you now get your specialization at level 1 instead of level 4. I can’t wait for the Core Rulebook to launch!
While we don’t have an exact release date, we know that the Core Rulebook will launch in February 2023. Will you be grabbing this new book?
