Greg Kinnear To Join Adaptation of Stephen King's THE STAND at CBS All Access
The cast list just keeps getting more extensive for the CBS All Access series The Stand, based on the novel by classic horror author Stephen King. Earlier this week, we reported that Heather Graham joined the cast, and now Greg Kinnear (As Good As It Gets, Little Miss Sunshine) has come aboard as well.
They join James Marsden, Amber Heard, Odessa Young, Jovan Adepo, Owen Teague, Daniel Sunjata, Henry Zaga, Brad William Henke, Eion Bailey, Katherine McNamara, Hamish Linklater, Nat Wolff, Marilyn Manson, Alexander Skarsgård and Whoopi Goldberg.
Kinnear will take on the role of “Glen Bateman, a widowed professor when the superflu hits, who was accustomed to a solitary life. When he encounters other survivors, Glen’s curiosity is piqued by Mother Abagail’s visions.”
Here’s the synopsis for the series:
“The Stand” presents an apocalyptic vision of a world decimated by plague and embroiled in an elemental struggle between good and evil. The fate of mankind rests on the frail shoulders of the 108-year-old other Mother Abagail (Goldberg) and a handful of survivors. The streaming platform announced in August that the prolific author himself will write the final episode of the series, providing a “new coda” that goes beyond the book
The Stand is set to hit CBS All Access sometime next year. Are you liking the look of the cast so far?
