Greg Nicotero Directing the Series Finale Episode of THE WALKING DEAD

The special effects master and Walking Dead universe director Greg Nicotero is officially directing the series finale of the flagship series, The Walking Dead. Not only has Nicotero helmed some of the most epic episodes of the series, but he has also brought some of the wildest effects to life from the walkers in all their various stages of decomp to Shiva the tiger.

When talking about the end of the series to ComicBook, Nicotero said:

"Just the idea that everything that we've done, everything that we've worked for will come to an end. I think by the time we get to the finale, man, it's going to be hard to say goodbye to these people. It'll have been a third of my career I've been working on Walking Dead. My kids grew up on the show. I watched people get married. Norman [Reedus] had a baby. Sonequa [Martin-Green] had a baby. Alanna [Masterson] had a baby. Christian [Serratos] had a baby. All these people that I met and worked with, now they're moms and they're dads and [they have] families."

This isn’t the end of the WD universe, as fans have already heard about the Daryl/Carol spinoff, as well as the Maggie/Negan series, Isle of the Dead, which is going to be set in New York.

The Walking Dead season 11, episodes 14-16 are airing Sundays, now through April 10th. The final 8 episodes will return to finish out on AMC in August. Are you looking forward to the remainder of this season, and the Walking Dead spinoff shows?
