GREMLINS Director Joe Dante Teams With 4 Directors For New Horror Anthology Film NIGHTMARE CINEMA

I enjoy watching horror anthology films! I've been hooked on them ever since I first saw the 1982 film Creepshow. We now have a new horror anthology movie going into development called Nightmare Cinema. The film is set in a haunted theater.

The movie also brings together five genre directors to helm the segments of the film. Those directors include Joe Dante (Gremlins, The Burbs), Mick Garris (The Stand), Alejandro Brugués (Juan of the Dead), and Ryuhei Kitamura (The Midnight Meat Train).

Mickey Rourke also stars in the film as a mysterious character who operates the creepy haunted theater’s projector. Here's a synopsis:

A series of down-on-their-luck individuals enter the decrepit and spine-chilling Rialto theater, only to have their deepest and darkest fears brought to life on the silver screen by The Projectionist – a mysterious, ghostly figure who holds the nightmarish futures of all who attend his screenings. By the time our patrons realize the truth, escape is no longer an option. For once the ticket is torn, their fate is sealed at Nightmare Cinema.

Nightmare Cinema sounds like it will be a fun movie! It's currently in the post-production phase, and as of right now there's no release date. It was also revealed that there are plans in place to develop a TV series out of the film inspired by anthology shows like Tales From the Crypt, so that's something to look forward to, especially if the movie turns out good!
