Grim First Trailer For Hulu's THE HANDMAID'S TALE Season 2 and Premiere Date Announced

Fresh off of its win for Best Drama at the Golden Globes, Hulu recently announced that The Handmaid’s Tale Season 2 will premiere on April 25th. They also released the first trailer for the upcoming 13-episode second season that you can watch below.

If you haven't watched the first season yet, it's definitely worth checking out. It's a great and intense series that tells a fascinating story. This trailer gives us a little glimpse of what we can expect to see from the new season. One of the things we know that it will focus on is Offred’s (Elisabeth Moss) pregnancy and her continuing fight to help her future child escape the dystopian horrors of Gilead.

When talking about Season 2 with Variety, Moss explained that it's going to be much darker than Season 1, saying:

"So much of the season is about motherhood. It's a bit of a ticking time bomb. And the complications of that are really wonderful to explore... It's a dark season. I would say, arguably, it's darker than season one — if that's possible."

The series is based on the novel by Margaret Atwood and developed as series by producer and writer Bruce Miller. Moss stars in the drama alongside Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Samira Wiley, Alexis Bledel, Ann Dowd, Max Minghella, Madeline Brewer, O-T Fagbenle and Amanda Brugel. It was also announced that Marisa Tomei would be making an appearance this season!

Watch the trailer and let us know if you're excited about the second season of The Handmaiden's Tale.
