Gripping Trailer for Hulu's Religious Cult Series THE CLEARING with Teresa Palmer and Guy Pearce
Hulu has released the first trailer for an Australian-set series titled The Clearing, which is described as a "gripping psychological thriller about a religious cult wreaking human havoc."
This is a series adaptation of the book The Clearing, written by J.P. Pomare, which is described as a "haunting" and "atmospheric" thriller, and it stars Teresa Palmer and Guy Pearce. The story is set against a ticking clock, and it pits a ruthless cult against a mother's love, revealing that our darkest secrets are the hardest ones to leave behind.
The series is described as “blurring the lines between past and present, reality and nightmare. A woman is forced to face the demons of her past in order to prevent a cult from gathering innocent children in the future.”
This looks like it will be quite a dark and disturbing series. The project was co-created by Elise McCredie (Strange Fits of Passion, Nowhere Boys, Sunshine, Stateless, Jack Irish) and Matt Cameron (Sunshine, Jack Irish). It also stars Miranda Otto, Julia Savage, Hazem Shammas, Mark Coles Smith, Kate Mulvany, Xavier Samuel, and Claudia Karvan.
Hulu will debut The Clearing series on May 24th, 2023.
