GROWN-ISH Actress Yara Shahidi Set to Play Tinker Bell in Disney's Live-Action PETER PAN

Black-ish and Grown-ish actress Yara Shahidi has signed on to play Tinker Bell in Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Peter Pan.

The classic J.M. Barrie story has been made many times over, with the animated Disney feature as well as other studio takes, and it is always pretty well done, telling the story of Wendy and her brothers, John and Michael, who are whisked away to Neverland by Peter Pan to meet the other Lost Boys and have adventures with pirates and mermaids.

Shahidi will join Jude Law, who is set to play Captain Hook, Ever Anderson, who will play Wendy, and Alexander Molony, in the role of Peter Pan. Shahidi is a beautiful and endearing actress, and I think she will make a fantastic Tinker Bell. I am looking forward to seeing this new take on the story as well.

David Lowery, who directed the live-action Pete’s Dragon, will direct the film, which he co-wrote alongside Toby Halbrooks. Peter Pan is currently in pre-production.
