James Gunn has made it clear that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be his final film for Marvel and that it will wrap up the story that he set out to tell with these wonderful, yet broken characters.

It’s a little sad knowing that this is all coming to an end and while we may see other characters continue on in the MCU, one actor we know is ready to move on from Marvel and his character is Dave Bautista, who plays Drax.

In a recent interview with CB, Bautista shared his thoughts on playing Drax one more time and wrapping up the story. He says that the whole thing is bittersweet. When talking about Drax in the franchise, he shares:

"You know, it seems to be Drax's pattern that no matter what his goal is, he gets his ass kicked. No superhero has ever gotten their ass kicked so much as Drax!"

The actor went on to talk about his excitement to get back with Gunn and the rest of the crew to shoot the third and final Guardians film, saying:

"It's our third film. We're going to wrap it up. And it's been a hell of a journey with a few bumps. So I'm looking forward to this, man. My cast and obviously the director, James Gunn, they're like family to me. This is kind of where my journey started. It's come full circle and I'm looking forward to wrapping it up. And it's a bittersweet... I mean, I've been doing Guardians since 2013. And, you know, when this comes out, you know, it'll be in 2023, so that's a, you know, 10 year journey."

Bautista went on to explain that he’s looking forward to wrapping this all up, saying:

"Part of the journey is the end. You know, all things must end. And, you know, I'm looking forward to kind of wrapping this up with my friends and family."

We don’t know much about the story that Gunn is looking to tell in this final chapter. But, the filmmaker has said that this next Guardians movie is going to be “gigantic,” and explained that it will tell Rocket Racoon’s story fully.
