GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 Script Is So Emotional It Left the Cast "In Floods of Tears"
The cast of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 recently got together with director James Gunn to read the script for the film, and it ended up being a super emotional experience for them.
Karen Gillan, who plays Nebula, recently shared her thoughts on the experience she had reading the script with Yahoo! Movies, saying, "We read it in the same room together and then looked at each other, and we were in floods of tears.” She went on to add the third movie is "so emotional."
She obviously is going to spill any story details, but she did say, "You're learning more about existing characters and on a deeper level. I'm really excited at exploring Nebula, post-Thanos."
James Gunn responded with the following Tweet:
The Guardians of the Galaxy films have all been wonderful. They are some of my favorite Marvel movies, and I’m excited to see what Gunn has created for the third and final chapter of his story. It certainly sounds like it’s going to be a heavy one.
If the cast was left in tears, there’s no doubt that there will be floods of tears from the audience and fans. I’m ready for that experience!
We don’t really know anything about the story that Gunn is looking to tell in this final chapter. But, the filmmaker has said that this next Guardians movie is going to be “gigantic,” and explained that it will tell Rocket Raccoon’s story fully.
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 opens in theaters on May 5, 2023.
