GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 Will Be the Beginning of a Whole New Marvel Cosmic Universe

There are some huge changes coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially with the release of Avengers: Infinity War. We've heard that is going to drastically change the MCU. From what it sounds like, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will drastically change the Cosmic Universe.

During an interview with IGN, director James Gunn talked about working with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige on the future of the MCU and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is going to usher in a whole new Cosmic Universe. He says:

"We talk about it all the time. It’s already a part of what I’m doing with Marvel and the conversations that Kevin and I have every day. When we’re talking about Guardians of the Galaxy 3, and that story, that’s a story that will lead to other stories. It’s innate to the DNA that that’s the end of a trilogy but it’s the beginning of a whole other element of the Marvel Cosmic universe. That’s a part of what I’m doing now."

We have no idea what any of this will entail, but it's still pretty damn exciting! It's fun to think and speculate about what they could do next. This is years down the road, but we do know one thing for sure... Adam Warlock is going to be a major part of the third film and that could lead to so many different things!

Gunn also reveals that there are some strange aliens we saw in Vol. 2 that could eventually return. These are the aliens shown during the scene where Rocket, Groot, Yondu, and Kraglin are making jumps across the universe. He says:

"They’re called Kronans, is what they are, and they’re specific characters. You might see them somewhere else in the future."

Lots of cool stuff for Marvel movie fans to look forward to! We'll just have to wait and see how this all plays out of the course of the next five years. In the meantime, we'll just enjoy the stuff Marvel Studios will be releasing in the near future like Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok
