Guillermo del Toro Shares Stories He Wants To Tell in a Sequel For SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK

The new film adaptation of Scary Stories To Tell in the Dark will feature a few great and disturbing stories from Alvin Schwartz’s original book series, but producer Guillermo del Toro and director Andre Ovredal couldn’t fit all those stories into the film!

If the first movie ends up doing well at the box office this weekend, there’s a chance that we’ll get to see a sequel made. If a sequel does happen, Del Toro teased a couple of other horror tales from the book series that he would like to bring to the big screen.

While talking to CB, the filmmaker said, "There is 'High Beams,' [Ovredal] wants very bad and 'The Ribbon,' I love. I think it's also one of those, the outcome of that story is so memorable, and it's very, very short. Has such a great visual gag." Both are wonderfully disturbing stories.

Here is the plot for High Beams:

A girl is driving home from the movies. On her way a man gets into his truck and starts to follow her. It takes her some time to notice that he is following her. He keeps shining his lights in her car and she starts to get really scared. She drives faster but the truck drives faster and keeps following her. She pulls into her driveway and the truck driver pulls in as well. The girl runs inside and she and her parents call the police. When they arrive, the truck driver says that there was a man hiding in the girl's car with a knife and he was trying to stab her. The truck driver was trying to warn the girl. The man in the car is arrested.

Here is the plot for The Red Ribbon:

In The Ribbon, a woman complains about a ribbon she has tied around her neck that she can't seem to untie. When her husband finally assists her, we learn that the ribbon was keeping her head on her neck, as the woman's head tumbles onto the floor.

I had a chance to see Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark last night and I enjoyed the hell out of it! It was a really fun horror movie that does a great job of bringing to life these haunting stories in a fun way and if the creative team gets to make a sequel, I’ll show up to watch it!
