GUILTY CREATURES Book Getting Thriller Series Adaptation at Apple With Julia Garner Starring and Craig Gillespie Directing
Apple TV+ has given a series order to Guilty Creatures, a thriller based on Mikita Brottman‘s acclaimed true-crime book Guilty Creatures: Sex, God, and Murder in Tallahassee, Florida, starring and executive produced by Emmy winner Julia Garner (Ozark, Weapons, The Fantastic Four). Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya, Your Friends & Neighbors, Pam & Tommy), will direct and Stuart Zicherman (The Shrink Next Door, Sweetbitter, The Americans) will serve as showrunner and executive producer.
Adapted for the screen by Sarah DeLappe (Bodies Bodies Bodies), the true crime narrative is set against a backdrop of sex and and murder in the Florida panhandle.
The series delves into the psyche of a torrid romance and subsequent act of murder between two young, adulterous but God-fearing lovers, unraveling their complex lives and the emotional toll of living as killers for 18 years.
Garner will next be seen starring opposite Anthony Boyle in limited series The Altruists, also on the streamer. She also serves as executive producer. Garner is currently in production opposite Charlize Theron in the Amazon MGM Studios pic Tyrant from David Weil, who is directing from a script he wrote.
She will also appear in the upcoming season of Apple TV’s The Studio.
