Guitarist Mark Tremonti is Writing a Sci-Fi Book to Accompany New Album

Mark Tremonti is one of my favorite guitarists. If you don’t know who he is, here is a quick rundown. He was the guitarist for Creed before forming the hard rock/metal band Alter Bridge. Then, in 2012, he started his solo project Tremonti which is even heavier and just as awesome as Alter Bridge. He is currently writing a fictional book to accompany Tremonti’s new album that comes out June 8, 2018. The album and book will be titled A Dying Machine and the story sounds pretty awesome:

The story...takes place at the turn of the next century where humans and fabricated beings called “vessels” are trying to co-exist.

Tremonti has teamed up with author John Shirley to write the book based on an idea he had during the last Alter Bridge tour. I am excited to learn more about the novel and hope that Tremonti and Shirley will be able to finish it in time to release alongside the record.

The record is unique in the fact that it is Tremonti’s first concept album over the course of his entire career and it sounds awesome. You can listen to a teaser in the video below.
