Guy Accidentally Sells His Friend's $1.4 Million JUSTICE ONLINE Character for Under $600

There are people out there who have put a lot of real-world money into video games. Typically though, people tend to spread their money across various games that they enjoy. Some cosmetic DLC for game A, the super-cool and overpowered weapons for game B, etc. Well, one man in China spent $1.4 million on his character in Justice Online. That’s a lot of money. That’s also not where the story ends.

For some reason, the owner gave the character to a friend of his. The friend then decided to sell the character back to his friend for $55,200 but made a typo and put the character up for $552. A third person then quickly snatched up the character. The friend blamed being dizzy after playing to much of the game. Needless to say, the original owner was not too happy about things and apparently sued NetEase, the developer. A judge ruled that NetEase had to return the character to the original owner, but the owner had to pay the buyer $12,800.

That is a ridiculous story. I am so confused by so many aspects of this. Also, I’m really glad I haven’t spent that much on a single character. How much have you ever spent on a single character?
