STXfilms has finally announced the new title and release date for director Guy Ritchie’s upcoming Jason Statham-led action spy film. The movie is titled Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre, and it’s scheduled to be released in theaters on January 21, 2022.

The movie was previously titled Five Eyes. In the film, “MI6 guns-and-steel agent Orson Fortune (Statham) is recruited by a global intelligence alliance ‘Five Eyes’ to track down and stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology that threatens to disrupt the world order. Reluctantly paired with CIA high-tech expert Sarah Fidel, Fortune sets off on a globe-trotting mission where he will have to use all of his charm, ingenuity, and stealth to track down and infiltrate billionaire arms broker Greg Simmonds.’

Operation Fortune was written by Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies (The Gentlemen, Wrath of Man), with revisions by Ritchie. Joining Statham in the film are Josh HartnettAubrey Plaza, Cary Elwes, and British rapper Bugzy Malone. That’s quite the interesting cast!

Ritchie and Statham have previously worked together on Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, Revolver, and the most recent Wrath of Man. I’m pretty excited to see what they end up delivering for this next movie!
