Fun Teaser Trailer for Guy Ritchie's YOUNG SHERLOCK Series

After stepping away from the world of Sherlock Holmes for more than a decade, Guy Ritchie is officially back on the case. Prime Video has dropped the first teaser trailer and locked in a premiere date for Young Sherlock, a new series that rewinds the clock on one of fiction’s most iconic detectives and gives him a rougher, more reckless edge.

The series stars Hero Fiennes Tiffin as a teenage Sherlock Holmes, long before the deerstalker, pipe, and carefully measured brilliance. This version of the character is impulsive, bruised by circumstance, and still figuring out who he is.

Prime Video describes the show: “With all the wit and charm of Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes feature films, Young Sherlock follows the origin story of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s beloved detective in an explosive re-imagining of this iconic character’s early days.

“Sherlock Holmes is a disgraced young man – raw and unfiltered – when he finds himself wrapped up in a murder case that threatens his liberty. His first ever case unravels a globe-trotting conspiracy that changes his life forever.

“Unfolding in 1870s Oxford and adventuring abroad, the series will expose the early antics of the anarchic adolescent who is yet to evolve into Baker Street’s most renowned resident.”

The teaser leans hard into that energy. This isn’t a polished mastermind yet. Holmes is volatile, driven, and constantly on the brink of trouble. It’s messy, dangerous, and very much in Ritchie’s wheelhouse.

The supporting includes Dónal Finn, Zine Tseng, Joseph Fiennes, Natascha McElhone, Max Irons, and Colin Firth. Their roles are being kept mostly under wraps, but the ensemble hints at a story that’s going to stretch well beyond a simple campus mystery.

Young Sherlock is based on Andrew Lane’s spin-off novel series and marks Ritchie’s first return to the character since Sherlock Holmes in 2009 and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows in 2011.

He directs the first two episodes and serves as an executive producer, bringing continuity to his particular vision of the detective. The series is created for television by showrunner Matthew Parkhill, who also executive produces.

All eight episodes of Young Sherlock will debut on March 4, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video and I’m excited about watching it!
