Guy Ritchie Signs On to Direct Sequel ROAD HOUSE 2 With Jake Gyllenhaal Set to Return

Director Guy Ritchie has signed on to helm the upcoming sequel, Road House 2, which has already secured its returning star, Jake Gyllenhaal, who played Dalton in the first film in 2024, which was a remake of the 1989 movie starring Patrick Swayze.

Plot details for the sequel are under wraps. News of the project was first announced at Amazon’s inaugural Upfronts presentation. Will Beall is penning the script, with Charles Roven and Alex Gartner producing for Atlas Entertainment, alongside Gyllenhaal and Josh McLaughlin of Nine Stories Productions. Ivan Atkinson will executive produce.

Ritchie takes the directorial reins from Doug Liman, who was open about his frustrations regarding Amazon MGM’s decision to release his Road House straight to streaming. The film nonetheless went on to big success upon its SXSW premiere, with nearly 80 million viewers in its first eight weeks on Prime Video.
