Guy Ritchie's THE GENTLEMEN Gets a Series of Promo Spots Focusing on The Characters of the Story
I’ve got a series of six promo spots for you to watch today that introduces us to the characters of director Guy Ritchie’s next film, The Gentlemen. This is a movie that I’m very much looking forward to as it’s reminiscent of the extremely cool films that Ritchie was making early on in his directing career like Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch.
I enjoy the crazy fast-paced style of these films that are driving by snappy and witty dialogue and this next film is an action crime comedy that explores the “collision between European ‘old money’ and the modern marijuana industry. It follows a British drug lord attempting to cash out on his highly profitable empire by selling it off to a dynasty of Oklahoma billionaires.”
The film is said to be "in the vein of the “high-energy British gangster pics” and the impressive cast that fills it includes Matthew McConaughey, Hugh Grant, Collin Farrell, Henry Golding, Charlie Hunnam, Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey), Jeremy Strong (Succession) and Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes).
Here is the synopsis for The Gentlemen:
From writer/director Guy Ritchie comes THE GENTLEMEN, a star-studded sophisticated action comedy. THE GENTLEMEN follows American expat Mickey Pearson (Matthew McConaughey) who built a highly profitable marijuana empire in London. When word gets out that he’s looking to cash out of the business forever it triggers plots, schemes, bribery and blackmail in an attempt to steal his domain out from under him.
The Gentlemen looks like it’ll be a blast and it hits theaters on January 24, 2020.
