Halle Berry Would Love To Direct a CATWOMAN Movie and Shares Her Idea For It
Catwoman star Halle Berry would love the opportunity to have another shot at the DC franchise as a director. As you may recall, that first Catwoman movie was not good. It certainly had potential, but it ended up being a complete mess.
During a recent interview with Jake's Takes to talk about about her upcoming film Bruise, she was asked about Catwoman, and she explained:
"I would love to direct Catwoman. If I can get a hold of that now, knowing what I know, having this experience and reimagine that world the way I reimagined this story. Bruise was written for a white Irish catholic, like 25-year-old girl. I got to reimagine it. I wish I could go back and reimagine Catowman and have a re-do on that."
The actress went on to share her idea for the film, saying:
"I would have Catwoman saving the world like most male superheroes do, and not just saving women from their faces cracking off. You know, I would make the stakes a lot higher. I think make it more inclusive of both men and women."
When previously sharing her thoughts on the original film, she said:
"The story didn't feel quite right. I remember having that argument: 'Why can't Catwoman save the world like Batman and Superman do? Why is she just saving women from a face cream that cracks their face off?' But I was just the actor for hire. I wasn't the director. I had very little say over that."
Who know if Berry will ever get the chance to direct a new Catwoman movie, but there is a new version of the character that’s being introduced in Matt Reeves’ The Batman. She is being played by Zoe Kravitz, and who knows if Warner Bros. plans on giving her a spinoff. For all we know, they could be developing a completely different Catwoman movie not connected to anything else that’s in development.
Would you like to see Berry be given the opportunity to direct a new Catwoman movie?
