Halle Berry Confirmed to Have Been in Talks for a JOHN WICK Spinoff Film
Halle Berry made her awesome debut in the John Wick franchise in the film John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum. She played a character named Sofia Al-Azwar in the story, and she also had a couple of attack dogs. They were involved with some pretty spectacular action sequences that the fans of the franchise absolutely loved!
Barry previously talked about the future of her character, saying: "Sofia's not in the next John Wick movie. There could possibly be a Sofia... her own movie. So she might not be in John Wick, but she might be doing her own thingy-thingy."
Well, during a recent interview with Joe Rogan, director Chad Stahelski talked about how Berry came to be involved with the franchise and confirmed that she has been in talks with the studio about making a spinoff film.
It turns out that Halle Berry basically demanded to meet with the directors of John Wick before they started working on John Wick: Chapter 3, and when she met with them Stahleski said that she said: “I want to be in your movie.” He added” She was that straightforward. No bullshit. She said I’m going to be in your movie.”
He went on to say that after she that, he said: “I’m flattered thank you, that’s very cool of you. I haven’t really written it yet.” She said, “‘Yeah, I know, that’s why I’m here, you’re going to write it for me.’ And I’m like Ok, cool. Let me give it a think, we’ll figure out something.”
She then came back after the script was written, collaborated a bit on it, and helped make some changes, and then she was off to training. During that training he said she “went crazy”, but in a good way to where she was so dedicated that they couldn’t get her out of the gym.
Rogan went on to ask: “After that movie did she ever want to do it again?” To which Staheleski responded: “Yeah, We’ve been in talks several times to try and find… I hate the term spinoff, but they are trying to do other satellite projects of the franchise, which is very flattering, hopefully, they’ll be good ones.”
So, it looks like we might actually get a John Wick spinoff movie with Halle Berry, which would be great! I’d love to see this character back in action in her own story!
