Halle Berry (X-Men, John Wick: Chapter 3) has joined the cast of director Roland Emmerich’s upcoming sci-fi epic, Moonfall. Emmerich, known for writing and directing Godzilla and Independence Day, is directing this film, which he wrote alongside Harald Kloser and Spencer Cohen. Berry joins Josh Gad in the cast, and she “will play a NASA astronaut-turned-administrator whose previous space mission holds a clue about an impending catastrophe.”

Check out the synopsis:

A mysterious force knocks the Moon from its orbit around Earth and sends it hurtling on a collision course with life as we know it. With mere weeks before impact, and against all odds, a ragtag team launches an impossible last-ditch mission into space, leaving behind everyone they love and risking everything to land on the lunar surface and save our planet from annihilation.

This seems like a film that is right up Emmerich’s alley. Berry is a great actress, and I think will be great as a brilliant NASA employee. Moonfall is set to begin production this fall in Montreal. Does this sound like a film you’ll be excited to see on the big screen?
