Halle Berry’s Storm Return in AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Comes With Hope and a Hard No
The rumor mill around Marvel never sleeps, and this time it’s spun up around Avengers: Doomsday and the possibility of Halle Berry stepping back into the role of Storm.
Fans have been tossing that idea around for a while, especially with the multiverse wide open and legacy characters popping back into the spotlight. Now Berry herself has weighed in, and her answer lands somewhere between exciting and disappointing.
While promoting Crime 101, Berry appeared on BBC Radio 1Xtra alongside Chris Hemsworth. During the interview, host Nadia Jae couldn’t resist asking the question fans have been dying to hear addressed.
Could Storm return in Avengers: Doomsday? The reaction was immediate laughter and a noticeable pause. Berry teased the idea before pulling back.
“Yeah, I would love to. But, you know…” she said, laughing with Hemsworth when pressed about the multiverse. When the question came up again, she repeated, “Yeah, I would love to. But you know.” A moment later, she shut the door, at least for now, with a clear, “No. No.”
Berry made it very clear that her love for Storm hasn’t faded at all, and that’s where the good news sneaks back in.
“First of all, I love Storm. I love Storm so much, like so many people. She’s a beloved character, and she’s one of my favorites, and I’m so proud of playing that character. So, yeah, I would come back for sure,” she said.
So while she’s not currently part of Avengers: Doomsday, the door isn’t locked. It sounds more like Marvel hasn’t called rather than Berry turning them away. In a franchise that thrives on secrecy and surprise, that distinction matters.
Marvel is already setting the stage for something massive. Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.
These films are shaping up to be huge crossover events, with Robert Downey Jr. stepping into the role of Doctor Doom. On top of that, several familiar faces from the original X-Men films are confirmed to return, including Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, James Marsden, as Cyclops, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, and Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler.
If there was one moment to bring Berry’s Storm back, this would be it. It’s a shame Marvel opted not to include her.
