HALLOWEEN ENDS Will Be Set Four Years After The Events of HALLOWEEN KILLS
After I watched Halloween Kills, I wondered if the next film Halloween Ends would pick off right where it left off, or if there would be some kind of time jump. Well, director David Gordon Green has revealed that the next chapter of the story will take place four years after the events of this most recent movie.
We get into some spoilerish territory here for Halloween Kills, so if you haven’t seen it yet, you might not want to read any further.
While talking to Fandom, Gordon Green said, "We're jumping time a little bit in [Halloween Ends] but part of what we're exploring is how Laurie and a few of our characters have processed those years between Halloween 2018 and that night's events and tragedies to Halloween 2022 [tracing the journey] to where they will come to fruition in their psychological aftermath."
As you know, both Halloween and Halloween Kills are set during the same night. Michael Myers went on one hell of a crazy and brutal killing spree in Haddonfield. After what everyone went through in these films, Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie Strode is going to have to take some time to recuperate. Michael Myers is also going to have to take some time off to gather his strength.
So, when the two come face to face again in Halloween Ends, they are going to be refreshed and ready to fight, and I imagine it’ll be a fight to the death.
When teasing what the story for the next film will entail, Green said that Andi Matichak's Allyson will be a focal point. He shared, "That's exactly what 'Halloween Ends' [explores] — the core of that story is [Allyson's] considerations and psychology."
If you’ve seen the first two films, then you know that she went through a complete nightmare, and there’s no doubt the events really messed her up. She’s now got an even bigger grudge with the Boogieman.
Halloween Ends is currently set to hit theaters on October 14, 2022.
