HALLOWEEN Movie Blu-ray Set Will Include Rare Alternate Cut

I'm a big fan of the original Halloween films, and this September Anchor Bay and Scream Factory will be releasing the first ever complete Halloween blu-ray box set.

The set will include every Halloween film ever made, including Halloween, Halloween II, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, Halloween H20, and Halloween: Resurrection. It will also include Rob Zombie’s lackluster remakes, Halloween and Halloween II.

The set will also have the “Producer’s Cut” of Halloween: The Curse of Michael Meyers. This is one of the rarest items as its an alternate version of the film that was also the feature film debut of Paul Rudd. It includes several scenes that were not in the theatrical release, and the only way Halloween fans could see see it until now is through bootlegging. An official release is something that fans never thought they would see, but it's coming!

I'm kind of excited for this. I already have many of the Halloween movies, but this box set is something that's worth owning for hardcore Halloween fans. It's pretty awesome that Anchor Bay was able to make a deal and cooperate with the various studios that own the different rights to these films so they could make this happen.

There will be two versions of the set:

  • The 10-disc Edition includes the original theatrical versions of the Halloween films and will include select bonus features. SRP is $129.99.
  • The 15-disc Deluxe Edition contains all the Halloween feature films, and includes the never before released producers cut of Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers as well as the ultra-rare network TV version of the original Halloween, the network TV version of Halloween II, plus the unrated versions of Rob Zombieís Halloween and Halloween II. It is packed with hours of BRAND NEW bonus features including new interviews with cast and crew from the entire franchise! In response to years of fan feedback, the first Halloween will now also include the original mono audio track and the set will include both versions of the original Halloween-the original Blu-ray release and the recently remastered 35th Anniversary version with the mono track added back in! It also comes with a limited edition 40-page book written by Michael Gingold of Fangoria Magazine. The collectible packaging will include a newly commissioned illustration on the outer case and each film will be in its own black Blu-ray case with the original theatrical one sheet as the key art. This deluxe set carries an SRP of $169.99.
