Han Solo's Last Blaster From STAR WARS: EPISODE IV - A NEW HOPE Was Just Sold at Auction for Over $1 Million
There’s quite a market for original Star Wars memorabilia and set paraphernalia, and if there was ever any doubt, it was proven with the recent transaction at Rock Island Auction Company. Han Solo’s blaster from Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope was sold for a whopping $1,057,500 to an unknown collector.
This prop is the last surviving model of the three used during the shooting of A New Hope, making it a pretty hot commodity. The blaster was sold at the auction for more than double the predicted price, as the original sale estimate was roughly $400,000.
Other items up for grabs were Darth Vader's suit, a variety of lightsabers – including Count Dooku's, and Boba Fett's helmet.
It’s pretty crazy that someone would pay over a million dollars for a prop, but if you’ve got the money, I guess, why not? What piece of movie memorabilia would you be willing to pay top dollar for if you had it?
