The Happy Death Day franchise turned out to be surprisingly fun, and fans couldn’t help but love Jessica Rothe in the lead role. She is one of the main reasons those films work so well.

Writer and director Christopher Landon has expressed interest in making a third film, and I know the fans would love to see where the insane story goes next. Jessica Rothe has also said she is holding out hope, and she is confident that one day we will see Happy Death Day 3 get made:

When previously asked about the likelihood of another sequel, Blumhouse studio chief Jason Blum said, “Not very but not impossible,” but now he’s changed his tune and he says he is working on making it happen. When talking with Entertainment Tonight, he was asked about it, and he said:

"Let me tell ya, I'm working overtime on it, believe me. I'm trying. Nothing official yet."

At least he’s actively working on it now! The director previously said that he has an idea for a third film and said that it’s “more bonkers” than the first two:

“I do have the idea for the third one. And I really hope that people go see this one so that I can make it. Because it’s bonkers. … This one’s more bonkers. But it fits!”

Well, if Blum is trying to push it forward, it looks like Landon will actually get to make his third Happy Death Day movie!
