Harley Quinn is Getting Her Own Adult Animated Action-Comedy Series!
If you're a fan of Harley Quinn, I've got some awesome news to share with you! DC Entertainment has announced that they will be developing an adult-oriented action-comedy series based on the character!
According to THR, the series is being developed by the team that developed the fantastically fun DC series Powerless that ended up being canceled. That creative team consists of Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker and Dean Lorey.
The first season will consist of 26 half-hour episodes and Margot Robbie will be asked to voice the character in the series. As of right now, we don't know if she'll end up doing it or not, but it'd be cool if she did. Thanks to the report, we also have the following details on what the series will entail:
The animated series will also feature Poison Ivy and a cast of heroes and villains — old and new — from the DC universe. The animated series follows Harley as she breaks things off with the Joker and attempts to make it on her own as the criminal "queenpin" of Gotham City. The series is described as an adult animated action-comedy.
I'm actually pretty excited about this! I thought Powerless was great, so I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with this Harley Quinn series. I've been a huge fan of this character ever since she was first introduced in Batman: The Animated Series, and it's so cool to hear that she's getting her own animated series!
The Harley Quinn series will air on DC's digital platform, which is set to launch in 2018.
