Harrison Ford Embarks on an Adventure with a Dog in The Wonderful First Trailer For THE CALL OF THE WILD

The first trailer has been released for Harrison Ford’s upcoming feature film adaptation of Jack London’s classic novel The Call of the Wild. In the story, Ford teams up with a dog as they embark on an adventure that will see them battling the harsh elements of the Alaskan Yukon during the Gold Rush in the 1890s.

This looks like a wonderful movie and I enjoyed what this first trailer had to offer. While Ford does star in the movie, this is very much a story about a dog’s journey.

The Call of the Wild “vividly brings to the screen the story of Buck, a big-hearted dog whose blissful domestic life is turned upside down when he is suddenly uprooted from his California home and transplanted to the exotic wilds of the Alaskan Yukon during the Gold Rush of the 1890s. As the newest rookie on a mail delivery dog sled team--and later its leader--Buck experiences the adventure of a lifetime, ultimately finding his true place in the world and becoming his own master.”

The movie is a live-action/animation hybrid, and it employs cutting edge visual effects and animation technology in order to render the animals in the film as fully photorealistic--and emotionally authentic--characters.

The Call of the Wild was directed by Chris Sanders (How to Train Your Dragon) from a screenplay by Michael Green (Logan, Blade Runner 2049). It also stars Dan Stevens, Omar Sy, Karen Gillan, Bradley Whitford and Colin Woodell.

The Call of the Wild opens in theaters on February 21, 2020. Check out the trailer below and tell us what you think!
