Harrison Ford Praises Ke Huy Quan's Hollywood Comeback, Saying an Oscar Nomination Would Be "Well Deserved"
A couple of months ago, we reported the heartwarming reunion between Harrison Ford and Ke Huy Quan at the D23 convention. The pair starred opposite one another in the 1984 movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and hadn’t seen each other since, so it was a really fun and sweet occurrence between the pair of actors.
While Ford is known for starring in many films since the ‘80s, Quan had taken a long break after starring in the hits Indiana Jones and The Goonies. He just returned to Hollywood with his breakout performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once, which has been getting tons of Oscar buzz, and Ford recently told Uproxx what he thought of his friend’s performance while saying that reuniting with Quan was a blessing.
“Oh yeah. Yeah, it was great to see him. I’ve had the opportunity to see the film. He is really terrific in his movie. And I’m so glad to see him…and what he has become. I’m so happy for him. He’s such a happy guy, too.”
When the reporter informed Ford that Quan is “probably going to get an Oscar nomination” for his role in Everything Everywhere All at Once, Ford responded, “And well deserved! Well deserved.”
Quan has won a handful of major prizes already this awards season for his performance in the A24-backed multiverse family drama. The Gotham Awards gave its supporting actor prize on Quan, as did the New York Film Critics Circle and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association. Quan is also nominated at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards for his role.
I can’t wait to see what Quan does next. He’s such a talented and genuine guy, and he was great in his latest film.
