Harrison Ford on "Tough Schedule" Shooting CAPTAIN AMERICA 4 and Shares Funny INDIANA JONES 5 Stunt Story
Harrison Ford is still a busy actor in high demand, even at the age of 80. Ford is about to debut his final bow as one of film’s greatest adventurers, Indiana Jones, in his fifth and final film in the franchise. The actor is also currently filming his MCU debut as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in the movie Captain America: New World Order, which he will shoot back to back with the Marvel film Thunderbolts, both due out next year.
But what’s even more impressive than Ford shooting all these action-heavy movies, is the fact that he still did most of his own stunts! He talked about his arduous Marvel schedule in a recent interview with Esquire, saying:
“There are tough days and easy days and fun days and all kinds of days. It’s a tough schedule and, yeah, it’s fun. But it’s not a walk in the park. It’s not fun fun. It’s work.”
He also told a story about the Indy stunts, and told this funny story:
“I thought, What the f**k? Like I was being attacked by gropers. I look down and there’s three stunt guys there making sure I didn’t fall off the stirrup. They said, Oh, we were just afraid because we thought, you know, and bah bah bah bah. And I said, Leave me the f**k alone, I’m an old man. Leave me alone, I’m an old man getting off a horse and … I want it to look like that!”
He’s pretty funny. I like that he always says exactly what he thinks. It always makes for some good storytelling. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny hits theaters on June 30th.
