Hasbro Announces Retro Kenner-Style STAR WARS Action Figures
Over the weekend, during Toy Fair 2019, Hasbro announced that they will have new series of retro-style Star Wars action figures based on classic Kenner designs that were released following the release of the first film in 1977.
This Star Wars “Retro Collection” will be released this coming spring and the line of figures will include Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess, Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper. I imagine that more of these retro figures will follow featuring other characters.
I love that the designs perfectly recreate the original action figure. Then, of course, as you can see there’s the packaging, which adds a little touch of wear and tear like they’ve been sitting around for years. I don’t really like the packaging. I’d much rather it look like it’s in pristine condition, but it’s a gimmick that some people might like.
Hasbro also announced a revamp of the classic Escape from Death Star Game that was originally released in 1977. It comes complete with a retro Grand Moff Tarkin action figure. So, there’s some cool retro Star Wars stuff coming for the fans!
