Hasbro Reveals New STAR WARS Toys at Toy Fair with the Majority Focusing on The Child

Between The Mandalorian and the return of The Clone Wars, Star Wars is enjoying some great momentum on TV. Of course, this also gives way for new merchandising opportunities, especially when one of those properties gives you a character as popular as The Child. At Toy Fair 2020, Star Wars unveiled a slew of new action figures, toys, and even games with probably about 90% of them being merchandise of The Child. I can almost guarantee that all of these toys will sell out in minutes because of how popular that character is. So, what can Star Wars fans expect?

I’ll start with the few toys that aren’t The Child. At the end of The Mandalorian we got to see Moff Gideon wielding a Darksaber. This Spring, fans will be able to purchase an electronic version that features light effects and battle sounds for $29.99. If you’re looking for some new The Clone Wars figures, you’ll be able to buy 5” figures from the Galaxy of Adventures line of Ahsoka Tano with her two blue lightsabers and Ahsoka’s Clone Troopers with the cool orange paint on their helmets. These will each be avaialble for $9.99 this Spring.

OK. So, what are the plans for The Child? Well, there are a lot. First, Hasbro is releasing Operation: Star Wars The Mandalorian where players will take objects away from The Child before they get into mischief. Also, Trouble: Star Wars The Mandalorian will see players assume the roles of IG-11, Cara Dune, Kuill, and the Mandalorian as they try to rescue The Child.

In addition, Hasbro has many other figures of The Child planned for Spring this year including one in The Black Series ($9.99). There’s also a talking plush ($24.99), a 6.5” figure ($19.99)and the Bounty Collection featuring six 2.2” collectibles ($7.99). If you can wait until Fall, you can try to get your hands on an animatronic toy complete with sounds and motorized movement! Pat its head for fun sounds including bables and giglles, watch it move its ears, and if you lay it down it’ll close its eyes and take a little nap. This will set fans back $59.99 though.
