Hasbro’s THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU Black Series Figures Launch With New Troopers, Colonel Ward, and More
The next chapter of Star Wars is almost here, and while The Mandalorian and Grogu is still keeping its biggest secrets under lock and key, one thing we can always count on is fresh collectibles.
A new Star Wars movie means new action figures, and Hasbro is officially opening the floodgates with its first wave of Black Series reveals tied to the upcoming film.
If you’ve been waiting to expand your Mando shelf, this is where it starts.
At the center of the wave is a deluxe six-inch set featuring Din Djarin and Grogu. It retails for $35 and packs in a ton of gear for the galaxy’s favorite beskar-clad bounty hunter.
Din comes loaded with his backpack, blaster pistol, a new rifle, a boot knife with an alternate gripping hand, and even a short sword. It isn’t the Darksaber, but it definitely looks like something that’ll see action on the big screen. Grogu gets a brand-new articulated sculpt designed to perch on Din’s back or cling to him mid-adventure, which should make for some awesome display options.
Of course, a Mandalorian can’t go into battle without enemies, and the Imperial Remnant is stepping up to fill that role.
Hasbro is rolling out updated Remnant Stormtroopers and a Remnant AT-AT Driver, both sporting battle-worn paint applications that reflect the Empire’s rough post-Endor existence.
The AT-AT Driver includes a blaster pistol, while the Stormtrooper comes armed with an E-11 rifle, plus removable accessories like a pauldron and ammo pouch so collectors can mix things up for army building.
There’s also a brand-new trooper design debuting in The Mandalorian and Grogu: the Remnant AT-RT Driver. It looks like the Empire dug up some old Clone Wars-era walkers, and these drivers are suited up in mismatched armor that blends elements of Snow Troopers and Shore Troopers.
Target will also carry an exclusive version of the Remnant Stormtrooper that’s even more damaged, featuring brown replacement armor parts on the arm and leg. It’s a cool variation for collectors who want their Imperial ranks to look properly worn down.
Then there’s one of the most intriguing additions to the lineup: Sigourney Weaver’s New Republic Colonel Ward. Ward is outfitted in an X-Wing pilot suit, as previously teased during Celebration Japan, and includes a removable helmet. That’s it for accessories, so the figure will have to rely on sheer presence. Fortunately, it’s Sigourney Weaver in an X-Wing pilot suit, which is already a strong selling point.
For collectors who love packaging variants, Hasbro has something extra planned. “First Edition” versions of the deluxe Mandalorian and Grogu, the standard Remnant Stormtrooper, the Remnant AT-AT Driver, the Remnant AT-RT Driver, and Colonel Ward will arrive in sleek white packaging.
These limited variants hit exclusively in-store at Walmart and Target in the U.S., as well as select Hasbro fan channel retailers globally, on March 22. The figures themselves are identical, so the packaging is the only difference, but getting your hands on these ahead of the movie gives them some added appeal.
The main Black Series wave is expected to land this spring in the lead-up to The Mandalorian and Grogu hitting theaters on May 22. Pre-orders are now live on Hasbro Pulse and other participating retailers. Target’s exclusive Remnant Stormtrooper will also be available for pre-order at that time.
The mystery surrounding The Mandalorian and Grogu might still be intact, but your display shelf doesn’t have to wait. If this first wave is any indication, Hasbro is gearing up for a fully loaded return to the Mandoverse.
