David Hasselhoff Says His GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Role Might Lead to a KNIGHT RIDER Revival

Ok, so take this with a grain of salt, because A. This was reported on TMZ, B. This was reported by David Hasselhoff, and C. This was reported on TMZ. I'm not saying it's not a reputable news outlet. I'm just saying.. well, ok let's just say it has its quirks.

Hasselhoff has definitely been relevant recently. There was the Baywatch remake, he had a cameo appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and he has even released some pretty awesome music videos including the one connected to GOTG Vol 2., "Guardians' Inferno". Now some of this may be done in a comedic manner, but the attention still lives.

Hasselhoff might also be making a comeback in other avenues, as he told TMZ that while on the set for Guardians of the Galaxy he had conversations that may have led to a revival of the classic 80s series Knight Rider:

"We're talking about doing a full blown TV series and we're working on the rights right now. It really came out of my relationship with James and the fact that he watched the show when he was 8 years old. It was crazy. I had this idea for a long time and James just jumped on it and all of a sudden out of his mouth was 'I'm trying to get the rights to do it."

There have been other reboot attempts in the past but nothing has managed to stick or even land for that matter. But if this turns out to be true, it might not be all bad. The thing all the other reboots are missing is the whole cheesiness. It's about a talking car voiced by Mr. Feeny and the guy who drives it. You have to live in the weird with a show like that and getting Hasselhoff to return in that role could be the best way to do it.

While I don't necessarily see a whole series coming from it, I can definitely see a miniseries that would be interesting. Especially if Michael Knight hasn't changed since we last saw him. If he still drives the same old car and lives in the 80's in his mind. That could be a fun premise. But who knows. We'll be sure to report if any more news comes from it.

If James Gunn is involved with developing the project in some way, that would also be pretty amazing and up the interest level.
