Haunting Full Trailer Released For Season 2 of Stephen King's MR. MERCEDES

AT&T's Audience Network has released a full trailer for the second season of Stephen King's insanely psychotic series Mr. Mercedes. If you could make it through the madness of Season 1, you'll definitely want to see what's in store for Season 2. I know a good amount of people that couldn't even make it through the first episode of the first season because it was so disturbing.

The story follows a demented killer named Brady Hartsfield (Harry Treadaway) "who taunts a retired police detective Bill Hodges (Brendon Gleeson) with a series of lurid letters and emails, forcing the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice before he is able to strike again."

This trailer is quite haunting as Brady, who is seemingly brain dead, is very much aware of his surroundings. And somehow he is able to hypnotize people and control them after a series of experiments that a doctor is conducting on him. This second season looks more intriguing than the first!

The series is based on a trilogy of books focusing on Hodges, with the first book being Mr. Mercedes and with the subsequent novels being Finders Keepers and End of Watch

Showrunner David E. Kelley previously talked about the plan for the upcoming season, saying:

"The master plan, which of course is always subject to change, is each book would represent a whole season, and Mr. Mercedes is the first season. Then we'll turn to season two and the second book, but we haven’t congregated as a writing group yet and begun to kick around stories for year two, so it's premature to say anything beyond that. But the concept, in success, is we would do each book as an entire season of 10 episodes."

The source material might only consist of three books, but Kelley would like to continue the story beyond those books:

"Yes, initially, though in success it could go on beyond that. That's everybody's plan, isn't it? You keep going and going and you keep finding more new stories. But going into this, the idea is that we have three books and in success it would make for three seasons and then, who knows? Maybe longer if we're having fun."

Mr. Mercedes is being directed by Jack Bender (Lost, Game of Thrones); the series returns on August 22nd.

Mr. Mercedes Season 2 premieres Wednesday, August 22nd at 10pm ET/PT on DIRECTV Channel 239.
