Haunting New Trailer for the Horror Film ANTEBELLUM Builds Up Hope Then Rips It Away

Lionsgate has released a new trailer for the upcoming horror thriller Antebellum. It starts out by building up hope and happiness and then that’s completely ripped away as Janelle Monáe’s character is torn from her wonderful life and thrust into a nightmare.

The movie comes from directors Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz and tells the story of “successful author Veronica Henley (Monáe), who finds herself trapped in a horrifying reality and must uncover the mind-bending mystery before it’s too late.”

The film also stars Kiersey Clemons (Sweetheart), Gabourey Sidibe (Precious, American Horror Story), Jena Malone (The Hunger Games trilogy, The Neon Demon), Eric Lange (Narcos), Jack Huston (Ben-Hur), Tongayi Chirisa (Crusoe), Marque Richardson II, Rob Aramayo, and Lily Cowles.

The release of the Antebellum has been pushed back to August 21st, and you can enjoy the new trailer below.
