HAWKEYE Star Hailee Steinfeld Says She Would Do Anything to Reteam With Florence Pugh in the MCU
After Hailee Steinfeld’s buddy series Hawkeye premiered back in 2021, the actress reprised her role of Kate Bishop in The Marvels and What If…?, and she will also voice the character in Marvel Zombies later this year, but we are still waiting for her to come back in a bigger way.
There have been rumors about a second season of Hawkeye, and the post-credits scene in The Marvels seemed to set up Young Avengers (now known as Champions), but nothing has been officially announced.
Steinfeld was asked about her future in the MCU by Collider, and she said:
“Oh my gosh. See, these get me in trouble, these questions!” she joked. “I wish I could say it all. I wish I knew it all. I think one of the greatest parts about being in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is that you yourself are along for the ride, and this is another character that I love so, so, so much and understand.
“I'm so grateful that Kate is a character that is so widely loved. I, as a fan, am so excited to see where she goes and to be a part in any and every way that is in store for her.”
She went on to talk about meeting Florence Pugh on the Hawkeye set, and expressed her hope to work with her again.
“So Florence came in, and we had these scenes that were very heavy on the dialogue, and so we got right to work with the dynamic and how we could make it sort of flow as best as it could.
“We hit it off immediately, and we just had the best time together. She’s wonderful. I would do anything to work more with Florence, especially in the Kate and Yelena world. I think we'd have a lot of fun.”
Pugh will return as Yelena in Thunderbolts* in just a couple of weeks, and has also been confirmed as a member of the Avengers: Doomsday cast. Steinfeld has not yet been confirmed, but we know more cast members will be announced.
Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on May 1, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on May 7, 2027.
