Hawkeye Will Have A More Active Role in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

Jeremy Renner is out promoting his new film Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation and while talking to ScreenRant he teased his upcoming role in Captain America: Civil War. Hawkeye will be back in full force, and according to the actor, the character is going to have a bigger, more active role in the story.

"Yeah, yeah. It’s more active. A lot of fun stuff happening in that one. I can’t speak too much for it. They’re still filming that sucker right now. But yeah, there’s a lot of stuff happening in that one physically for me anyway. Then who knows in the future? I don’t know what’s going to happen."

The actor is then asked about his run with Marvel, and if he thinks that actors like himself can keep going after that, or if he thinks "there needs to be new blood and kind of recycle and bring in new faces?"

"I think it’s probably both. It’s always great to know that you are going have a job next year or something. That’s a fantastic blessing for any actor. It’s nice to be able to continue things and characters that you’ve kind of grown with. But it’s always great to have new faces come in. They’re not big on replacing people and characters so much, which I think is smart, because there’s so many different characters. I think there’s going to be a lot of new faces coming up in that world. I’m happy just to be a part of that big universe."

I know we won't see the last of Hawkeye in Civil War, but it's sure going to be interesting to see how exactly he will fit into the story. I really liked the new dynamic that they revealed for Hawkeye in Age of Ultron; it definitely made his character a lot more interesting. Captain America: Civil War arrives in theaters on May 6th, 2016. The film is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo
