Hayley Atwell Gives Her Thoughts on the WONDER WOMAN Movie

When I first watched Wonder Woman, a huge thought came into my head. That thought was that the movie is so much like Captain America as it's a period piece superhero movie taking place during a major World War. The biggest difference I saw, was Wonder Woman made war look a lot less fun, which is a good thing. War isn't supposed to be fun. But because of the two similarities, it does make me "wonder" what star Hayley Atwell, who was in Captain America thought of it.

She thought it was great! Welp, job done. What? Do you want more? *sigh* fine. While speaking with Buzzfeed, Atwell had fantastic things to say about the film.

"I thought it was a triumph. I came out of that walking on air, and I think what’s brilliant about is, it’s a genre piece, it’s a superhero movie. It’s pitch-perfect from Gal’s performance to the script to the music, it has just the right amount of tongue in cheek humor, it’s engaging, and I was so surprised by the end of it."

Hayley Atwell really freakin' loved the movie, and that means a lot in my opinion. Besides starring as Captain America's girlfriend in Captain America, Peggy Carter also had an awesome series that in many ways paved the way for female heroes everywhere. Not to say Wonder Woman wouldn't have been made without Peggy Carter, but Peggy Carter definitely showed people how badass one woman can be. Atwell doesn't stop there with the praise though. She goes on to show her excitement on what Wonder Woman's success means for the future of films.

"I thought, Here we go! 76 years in the making that’s breaking box office records and it’s led by a woman and it’s directed by a woman – I was like, ‘Patty! F–cking! Jenkins! YESSS!’ And what it means for all of us because it’s not just women are great; it’s going, come on, let’s represent who we really are as women. They did it beautifully. Not only did they pull it off, they just were like, Boom! They excelled."

I think this is cool. Both are great heroes and role models for little girls and woman. I would love to see Hayley Atwell make a comeback into the hero world. Even if it isn't as Peggy Carter, I think it would just be great to see her in some sort of heroic role again. I wouldn't even mind seeing her make an appearance in a DC film. Now that would be something.
