Hayley Atwell is Set to Star in Disney's CHRISTOPHER ROBIN Alongside Ewan McGregor
Peggy Carter star Hayley Atwell just landed a great movie gig! She is set to star alongside Ewan McGregor in Disney's upcoming film Christopher Robin. I'm a huge fan of Atwell, so it's pretty awesome to see her land a role in this movie.
The story centers around an adult version of Christopher, who is the young boy from the classic A.A. Milne Winnie the Pooh series. He will be played by McGregor and Atwell will play his wife. As far as the plot goes, here are the details:
Robin has grown out of the joyful imagination he had as a young boy and is now a businessman who prioritizes work over his wife and daughter. With his home life on the brink, the last thing his life needs is the return of Pooh, who needs his help in finding his friends again. Robin has to find a way to help both sides or risk losing everything he holds dear.
Yeah, the plot sounds a lot like Stephen Spielberg's Hook. But, it's described as having "strong elements of magical realism as it seeks to tell an emotional journey that is combined with a heartwarming adventure."
World War Z director Marc Forster is set to direct the film from a script written by Hidden Figures scribe Allison Schroeder. Brigham Taylor (The Jungle Book, Tron: Legacy) is also producing the film. The movie has a solid team of creative talent and I love the way the cast is shaping up so far.
