HBO Has Renewed Zendaya's Drama Series EUPHORIA for Season 3
HBO has announced that they have renewed Zendaya’s popular drama series Euphoria for a third season. This has been a strong series for HBO. It’s also been a hit critically and culturally, and it’s delivering ratings records for both HBO and HBO Max.
This has been a rough show for me to get through because it’s so damn depressing. It’s good, though. The show comes from creator Sam Levinson, and it follows the troubled life of Rue, “a drug addict fresh from rehab with no plans to stay clean. Circling in Rue's orbit are Jules, a transgender girl searching for where she belongs; Nate, a jock whose anger issues mask sexual insecurities; Chris, a football star who finds the adjustment from high school to college harder than expected; Cassie, whose sexual history continues to dog her; and Kat, a body-conscious teen exploring her sexuality. As the classmates struggle to make sense of their futures, the series tackles the teenage landscape of substance-enhanced parties and anxiety-ridden day-to-day life with empathy and candor.”
In Season 2, Zendaya returns as Rue, “who’s relapsed since Jules (Hunter Schafer) left her for the city. With school back in session Rue faces new obstacles to her sobriety and her relationship with Jules. Tensions also rise between Nate (Jacob Elordi), Maddy (Alexa Demie) and Cassie (Sydney Sweeney), while Lexi (Maude Apatow) takes on a creative venture.”
Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming said in a statement, “Sam, Zendaya, and the entire cast and crew of Euphoria have taken Season 2 to extraordinary heights, challenging narrative convention and form, while maintaining its heart. We couldn’t be more honored to work with this gifted, wildly talented team or more excited to continue our journey with them into Season 3.”
Euphoria Season 2 concludes on Sunday, February 27th. Have you been watching Euphoria? Are you happy to learn that we’re getting a new season?
