HBO Is Hilariously Giving Away Big Black Cardboard Boxes to Give College Students Privacy While Watching Their Shows

HBO launched one of its most interesting and weird marketing campaigns yet by giving away big black boxes to college students. The boxes are to help give the students viewing privacy in their dorms or rooms so that aren’t bugged by their roommates while watching their favorite shows on their phones or tablets.

You literately sit inside the box and watch your HBO shows in the dark in peace. You know what? Now that I think of it, as silly as this sounds, this would be great for parents to try and get some privacy from kids! “Hey kids! I’ll be in the box! Don’t bug me!”

HBO even released a funny promo trailer for the HBO box that you can watch below:

We've made escaping your roommate a reality. Find out how you can get your very own HBO Box https://boxchallenge.fooji.com/#start NoPurNec. 18+/age of maj Ends 11/7/19 Rules: http://bit.ly/hboboxchallenge

I enjoyed the little self-aware jokes that they added in the promo like the line: “We’re so excited to see what you do – or don’t – in an HBO Box.” The whole video is very tongue-in-cheek, and it’s amusing. Especially the fact they point out the box has a “360° hole”!? I don’t even want to get into what that could mean!
